In the mid-1980s, PETROBRÁS hired Figueiredo Ferraz to develop Brazilian design technology for offshore oil exploration platforms. Since then it has elaborated studies, calculations, projects, and inspections and repairs, and has rendered technical assistance to fixed and semi-submersible offshore platforms. These techniques and methodologies have been recognized by international certification societies such as ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), DNV (Det Norske Veritas) and NDA (Noble Denton Associates), demonstrating their world-class excellence. The company has produced infrastructure for refineries as well as installations for storage and distribution. The company’s extensive experience in subterranean excavation and geotechnics qualify it to develop projects for subterranean storage of fuel oils (Rock Storage).
